THEY SAY THE league table never lies but Manchester United sitting third after five wins on the bounce is enough to have anyone demanding a polygraph test.
Indeed, Gary Neville is so underwhelmed with the performances of his former team he compared their clash with ninth-placed Liverpool next weekend to a pub game.
However, while the joke may have tickled his colleagues in the Sky Sports studio, it – along with the comment that United got away with murder during the game – left manager Louis van Gaal unimpressed.
He told reporters afterwards:
